If you are getting this error message on your Chromecast device and you know you are connecting to the correct wifi network and typing in the correct password then do not fear. You just have to power cycle, in other works turn off then turn back on your modem. If you have a modem and a router then turn them both off then turn them both back on. It is best to turn off the modem (and router if you have) for one minute then turn it back on.
It does not matter if you have the Chromecast 1st gen or 2nd gen as I have had issues on both of these and a simple power cycle of my modem and router worked.
